Be part of VTPSC
The Vermont Product Stewarship Council (VTPSC) is a coalition of government organizations in Vermont that operates as an unincorporated association of members and is comprised of a General Council and Steering Committee.
There are three types of members - General Council, Steering Committee, and Partners.
VTPSC General Council Members
Members of the VTPSC consist of cities, counties, solid waste districts and alliances or other local government bodies that:
- Provide funding and/or staff time to VTPSC activities and projects and commit staff time to attend VTPSC meetings; and
- Support the VTPSC Mission and Objectives and sign the VTPSC Partner Pledge.
VTPSC Steering Committee Members
Members of the VTPSC Steering Committee Members of the VTPSC Steering Committee make up the voting member body of the Council. The steering committee is limited to 13 representatives from local government. Each agency provides one official representative to the Steering Committee and receives one vote for decision-making purposes. Steering committee members must:
- Provide funding and/or staff time to VTPSC activities and projects (as outlined in the Roles and Responsibilities of Steering Committee Members below) and commit staff time to attend VTPSC meetings, and
- Sign the VTPSC Letter of Agreement.
There are two additional seats that are open on the VTPSC. Members of the Steering Committee are general council members that make up the voting member body of the Council.
If you represent local government and are interested on being on the steering committee, our Letter of Agreement outlines the Council's mission, objectives, and gives a more detailed explanation of the Council. Fill out the Pledge and fax or mail the form to the VTPSC (the address is on the form). Membership on the Steering Committee is subject to approval. VTPSC Partners
Partners are local, state, regional and federal government agencies, businesses, and nonprofit groups and other associations that support the VTPSC mission and product stewardship principles. Partners can participate in any of the subcommittee projects and programs.We welcome more Partners signing on in the future. Our Partner Pledge outlines the VTPSC mission and objectives available for Partners to sign onto. Fill out the Pledge and fax or mail the form to the VTPSC (the address is on the form). All members receive:
- Access to the VTPSC listserve;
- Invitations to participate in VTPSC subcommittees;
- Access to individuals with product stewardship expertise;
- Updates about product stewardship resources, reports, legislation, policies and programs; and
- A place to share information about local product stewardship activities.
