Electronic waste: S.77 was passed by the Senate in 2009 and is being taken up by the House in 2010 legislative session.
The bill which has significantly changed from the version that was passed by the senate will require manufacturers to be part of a plan written and implemented by the state to collect and recycle e-waste. Manufacturers may come up with their own plan but it must meet convenience standards and recycling rates to in effect provide a state-wide program that is free and convenient to all Vermonters.
